Accounting & Payroll Specialist
The Bone & Joint Center is seeking a professional, detail-oriented candidate to join our finance office as a full-time accounting and payroll specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, which includes direct deposits, tax and benefit withholdings, address changes, etc.
- Ensure payroll-related journal entries are posted accurately and timely in the accounting software
- Reconcile bank deposits from billing system to bank and GL
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Support monthly and year-end financial closes by identifying variances and explanations
- Invoice tenants rent, common area charges, maintain AR and lease management
- File NYS sales tax returns
- Prepare special financial reports when requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in payroll, accounting, finance, or business capacity
- General knowledge of payroll systems, payroll regulations, and practices
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and foster strong cross-functional relationships, internally and externally
- Exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly
